Adopt-A-Median Clean-Up
The Taylor Ranch Neighborhood Association (TRNA) recently adopted a median on Taylor Ranch Road through the Solid Waste Department's" Keep Albuquerque Beautiful" program. The TRNA sign is proudly displayed on the Taylor Ranch Road median southbound from La Nortena.
About ten years ago city councilor Cynthia Borrego, secured funding for landscaping the Taylor Ranch Road medians. TRNA and other residents assisted in the planning and choosing shrubbery. We can all agree that the resulting landscape looks great.
The Keep Albuquerque Beautiful program initiated Adopt-A-Median, whereby a sign with the group's name is posted in exchange for doing monthly clean up of the median to include picking up litter and fallen branches, raking leaves, along with reporting on damage. The Solid Waste Dept. provides lawn bags, reflective vests, gloves, and hand sanitizer. We had our first cleanup for December 2025. While the medians look clean driving by, we picked up a lawn bag full of litter and fallen branches. Alcohol bottles and broken glass were strewn about. Fortunately, we did not find any needles used for drug abuse. Such needles are to be reported to 311, who will dispatch staff to dispose of them.
TRNA members and residents are invited to assist in the monthly cleanup.
The next cleanup is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 8:30 am.
