May 10th Help Clean Up Petroglyph National Monument

Current Events
TAYLOR RANCH DAY - Saturday, May 17th

To celebrate what a great neighborhood we live in, we’ll be having our very first “Taylor Ranch Day” on Saturday, May 17th. This will be in conjunction with our semi-annual Flea Market and monthly Mariposa Basin Park Cleanup.
It all kicks off with the Flea Market starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Cross of Hope Church parking lot (see separate article below).
Come and get a cup of java & a donut, while browsing the items for sale, then head to Mariposa Basin park to help pick up trash at 9:00 a.m.; sign the roster at the entrance gate where you also pick up the trash bags.
Meanwhile, a variety of activities will be set up at the Don Newton Taylor Ranch Community Center, including information booths for APD and AFD, live music, and a Mobile Pet Adoption Unit. For more information on the scheduled events at the Community Center, contact president@trna.org or vice-president@trna.org.
You are also welcome to visit the Fire Station across the street from the Community Center.
Finally, in the evening, at 7:30 p.m., there will be a Middle School dance at the Community Center. Those who helped clean up the park will be admitted for free.
Come join in the celebration!

Scholarships Awarded
Taylor Ranch Neighborhood Association awarded two $500 scholarships to local graduating seniors at the General Membership Meeting in March.
Seven outstanding local seniors who excelled in both academics and community service applied. The committee ranked the applicants based on the application form itself (15%), reference letters (20%), grade point averages (25%), community involvement and extra curricular activities of the students (35%) and family membership in TRNA (5%). The two highest ranking students were awarded scholarships:
Ms. Ashley Freelin, a senior at Cibola
Ms. Lauren Spangler, also a senior at Cibola
Congratulations!
